早朝、東京の道はとてもスムーズであった。 今日はゴールデンウィークの真最中である。 天気は曇りのち雨、そして風がとても強くふいている。私のお客さんはどこにいる？！ 午前９時３０分、渋谷にて客待ちの列に並ぶ。今日の列は特に長い。私はほとんど仕事がはかどっていなかった。若い男が歩道にいる。そして彼は私の車の窓を「コンコン！」ノックした。私は窓を開ける。彼はスニーカーを差し出し「電話！」と言う。私は何のことかわからない。ふたたび彼は「電話！」。 私は気がつく。彼は酔っているか頭のイカレてる奴だ。私は窓を閉めた。彼は私の後ろのタクシーに行く。私はバックミラー越しに彼を見る。スニーカーを持った男は裸足である。そして後ろのタクシーになにか言っている。しかし、後ろのタクシーは彼を全く相手にしない。私は考えた。ちょうど今、ゴールデンウィークが彼の頭にやって来ている。彼はとても幸せなのだ。それにしても彼はもうひとつのスニーカーをどこに忘れたのだろう? 今日の売り上げ２８，０００円。 悪い！ ゴールデンウィークは私の仕事に大打撃を与えた。

The roads of Tokyo were very smooth early morning. Today was the middle of the golden week. The weather was cloudy after rainy and the wind were blowing hard. Where are my clients? I was waiting in the taxi queue in Shibuya at 9:30AM. That line was very long and my work had made little progress. Then a young man was at the sidewalk and he knocked my car’s window. I opened the window. He handed me a sneaker and said “The phone!” I didn’t understand. He said again “The phone!” I noticed that he was drunk or mad. Next I closed the window. He moved a taxi behind me. I saw him on the mirror he was with the sneaker on his hand walking barefooted and was saying something to the taxi driver. But the taxi driver didn’t care about him. I thought the golden week has come on to his brain now. He was very happy. Where did he lost his another sneaker? Today’s sales amount was 32,000 yen. Very bad! The golden week dealt a blow to my work.
