天気はとてもよい。気温１０度。 早朝から素晴らしいお天気だ。私は春の気配を感じる。 ７時３０分に出庫する。 この日の夕方、私はおばあさんを五反田で乗せた。彼女は品川まで行った。 私たちは彼女の目的地に着いた。料金７４０円。 すると彼女は１万円札を出した。 私は言う。「１万円からでよろしいですか？」。 慌てて彼女、「あっ！ 間違えました、ゴメンナサイ」。彼女は１万円札を財布にしまい込み別の札を出して私によこした。今度は５千円札だ。 私は「５千円札からで、よろしいですか？」。すると「あらっ！ ヤダ！ 千円札あるのよ、ごめんなさいね」。三回目にやっと千円札を私によこした。私は「こちらからでよろしいですか？」。 おばあさんは安心して「はい、スイマセン」。おばあさんは車から降りた。私は後悔した。なぜ最初から“千円からでよろしいですか”と私は言わなかったのか・・・もし言っていたら・・・完全犯罪・・・ダメだ！・・・私は正しいタクシードライバーだ！ 売り上げ４５，０００円。

The weather was very fine and the temperature was 10 degrees ℃, and it felt a wonderful weather from early morning. And I felt a thin of spring in the air. I started to work at 7:30AM. This evening, I picked up an old woman in Gotanda. She went to Shinagawa. We arrived at her destination, that fare was 740 yen. Then she paid with a 10,000 yen bill. I said, “From 10,000 yen bill, right?” She said in confused, “I mistake it. Sorry!” She put the bill into her wallet, and took out other bill; she handed me the bill. But, it was a 5,000 yen bill. I said, “From a 5,000 yen bill, right?” She said in confused again, “Oh, no! I mistake it again. I’m sorry.” Third times, she handed me a 1,000 yen bill. I said, “From a 1,000 yen bill, right?” She said in comfort, “Yes! Thanks.” She got off the car and I had regret because that I didn’t say from beginning, “From a 1,000 yen bill…” If I said it that it was a perfect thief. … No! … I am a right taxi driver. … I made 45,000 yen.
