晴天、そして素晴らしい日曜だ。 私は５時３０分に起きた。そして６時３０分に会社に行く。７時３０分にいつものように出庫した。 早朝、交通はとてもスムーズである気楽だ。私は快適に運転した。いい気分である。 しかし問題が一つある。お客がいない！ 日曜の朝は人の出足が悪い。 私は客待ちタクシーの列に並ぶ。ほかのタクシーを見る。タクシーの色は実にさまざまである。黒、白、オレンジ、紺、緑、黄色・・・。それは全く纏まりがない。 私の車は黄色である。 黄色のタクシーは東京で一番良い！ 本当？ 私の番、若い女を乗せる。彼女は原宿まで行く。料金６６０円。 彼女は１０，０００円札を出した。私はお釣りが足りない。困った・・。私、「スイマセン、お釣り間に合いません、小銭ではおいくら持っていますか？」。彼女は小銭を数える。そして「スイマセン、５９０円しかないんです」・・私、「わかりました、それでよいです」。彼女、「ごめんなさい、いいんですか？ありがとうございます」。そのとき私のつり銭箱には札が一枚も入っていなかった。 がっかりするな！ 私は東京で一番良いタクシードライバーだ・・・黄色いタクシー！！！ 売り上げ３７，０００円。 そう最良の運転手は売り上げが悪い。

The weather was fine and today was a very nice Sunday. I woke up at 5:30AM., and went to my company at 6:30 and started to work at 7:30AM., as usual. early morning, the traffic was very smooth and easy. I was driving comfortably and I felt happy. But I had a problem. There were no clients. Sunday morning, where was no good turnout of clients. I was in a taxi queue, and saw other taxies. The colors of the taxies were different, black, white and orange, dark blue, green and yellow. … They were not uniform consistency. My taxi’s color is yellow. Yellow taxies were the best in Tokyo. Really? Then I picked up a young woman. She went to Harajyuku that fare was 660 yen. She paid with a 10,000 yen bill. I didn’t have enough change. Oh! I said, “Excuse me. I don’t have change. How many coins do you have?” She counted her coins and said, “Sorry. I have only 590 yen in coins.” I said, “OK! That’s good.” She said, “I’m sorry, and thanks.” At that time, there was not single bill in the change box. Don’t be discouraged. (I said to myself.) I am the best taxi driver in Tokyo. The Yellow Taxi! I made 37,000 yen. The best driver had bad sales.
