７月１０日 （土）２００４
私はタクシードライバー。 今朝５時３０分に起きた。私はとても眠い。そしてとても体がだるい。これは夏バテである。 きっと外は暑くなるだろう。 誰か私をタクシーで会社に連れてって！ 午後、私は渋谷にいた。駅前では選挙の立候補が演説している。明日は参議院選挙の投票日である。 きっと私は投票所には行かない。なぜならそこでは昼メシが出ないのだ。 深夜、千住で酔っぱらいの男を乗せた。彼は「足立３丁目まで！」。言うとすぐうとうとする。 数分後目的地に着いた。料金７４０円。 私は声をかける。「スイマセン！着きましたよ」。彼はビクッと起きると「オッケ〜〜！」。そして２千円札で支払う。そして言う。「釣りはいいから」。 私「あっ！ありがとうございます」。そう、彼は１千円札を出したと思っている。 私は心の中で彼に言う。「ありがとう！あなたが選挙に立候補したら、必ずあなたに投票しよう」。今日の売り上げ４５，０００円。

I am a taxi driver. This morning, I woke up at 5:30AM. I was very sleepy and felt lazy. It was the summer heat has really worn me down. Maybe it will be hot outside. I thought that I would like that someone drive me to my company by taxi. In the afternoon, I was in Shibuya. A candidate for the upcoming elections was making a speech in front of the public at Shibuya Sta. The voting day of the election for the House of Councilors will be tomorrow. Perhaps I will never go to a polling station because there don’t give you lunch. At midnight, I picked up a man who was drank in Senjyu. He asked me to go to Adachi 3 and was soon dozing off. A few minutes later, we arrived his destination, that fare was 740 yen. I said, “Excuse me. We arrived.” He jumped “Okay” and paid with a 2,000 yen bill and said, “Keep the change.” I said, “Oh! Thank you very much.” So he thought that he paid with a 1,000 yen bill. I said in my mind, “Thanks. I will certainly vote for him when if he runs for an election.” I made 45,000 yen.
