６月３０日 （水） ２００４
雨が降っている。気温２８度。私は少し忙しい。また道路もとても混んでいた。何回か仕事をこなす。午後１時３０分、雨が止んだ。そして空は晴れわたる。客足が落ちた・・お客はどこにいる！？ 夕方、目黒のラーメン屋さんに行く。名前は「ぱっくん亭」。名前が気に入る。とても面白い店名だ。ぱっくん亭・・ぱっくん・・パックン・・なぜかちょっと卑猥である。私はラーメンを食べた。なかなかいける。深夜、私は上野にいた。中年の男が居酒屋から出てくる。そして手を上げた。私は車を止め、ドアを開けた。彼は乗り込むと言う。「いつものとこまで！」。彼はひどく酔っている。私には何のことか良くわからない。「どちらまで行かれますか？」。彼は叫ぶ。「なに！知ってるだろ！毎日黄色のタクシーに乗ってるんだ、一日３回も４回もタクシーに乗るんだ・・」と彼は威張り散らす。なかなか行き先を言わない。思う。困ったもんだ・・私は苦労する・・なにげに彼が出てきた店の看板を見た。なんてこった！ 居酒屋“天狗” まさに今、天狗は私の後ろにいる。天狗は鼻の長い妖怪だ。うるさい男は団子鼻である。今日の売り上げ４５，０００円。

The weather was rainy and the temperature was 28 degrees ℃. I was a bit busy, and the traffic was very busy too. I picked up many clients. At 1:30PM., the rain stopped, and the sky became clear. The number of clients dropped. Where are the clients? In the evening I went to a noodle shop in Meguro. The shop’s name was Packun Tea. I like the name. It’s a very interesting name. The Packun Tei … Packun … Packun … It is somewhat indecent. I ate the noodles; they tasted good. At midnight I was in Ueno. A middle age man came from a Izakaya restaurant and signaled me down. I stopped the car and opened the door. He got in and said, “Go to the usual place!” he was very drunk. I didn’t understand. “Where do you want to go?” He screamed, “What! You know! I use the yellow taxi every day. I take the taxi three or four times a day. …“ He was a boastered and didn’t tall me his destination. I had a hard tome. I looked tat the Izakaya’s signboard and thought. Oh my god! Its name is Tengu. And I had a Tengu in my back seat now. A Tengu is a long-nosed gblin or a boastered. He had a snub nose. I made 45,000 yen.
