【第５回】
渋谷の美竹公園にバスケットボールのコートが作られている。アメリカのプロバスケット選手、マイケル・ジョーダンが渋谷区に寄贈した。そのコートの床は古いスニーカーのゴムをリサイクルして作られてある。ラジオでのニュースに感心した。お昼、美竹公園のトイレに行く。トイレのあと、そのコートを見ようと思う。 私はトイレから出てきた。ホームレス三人がトイレの近くの地面で昼寝している。一見生きているのか死んでいるのかわからない。私は一人のホームレスの胸をじっと見る・・・わずかに動いている・・・私はそれを見て安心する。 そして若い女二人がベンチに座って弁当を食べていた。ベンチはトイレの横５メートルぐらいのところである。あまり良い眺めでない。女二人は悪い眺めを全く気にしていない。楽しそうに弁当を食べている・・・。私は何かやるせない気分で車に戻った。たばこに火をつけて運転する。あっ！なんてこった！ まだバスケットボールのコートを見ていない。あきらめよう・・・。 昨日、イラクで日本のジャーナリスト二人がテロリストに殺された。そのニュースを思い出す・・悲しい・・。渋谷は今日も人々で溢れている、みんな幸せそうである・・・・・。 売り上げ、５１，０００円。 良い！ 私は元気になる。

There is a basketball court being constructed in Mitake Park, Shibuya. The court was donated by Michael Jordan; he is an American professional basket ball player. The court’s floor is made from rubber recycled from old sneakers. I was impressed by the news on the radio. At noon I went to Mitake Park’s toilet and thought I would see the court after going to the toilet. Once I went out. I saw that three homeless men were napping on the ground near the toilet. I didn’t know whether they were dead or alive. I stared at one of the homeless men’s chest…. … It moved slightly…. … I felt relieved to see that. And I saw two young women sitting on the bench and eating lunch box. The bench was about 5 meters from the toilet. The two women didn’t care about the bad view at all, and continued eating lunch happily. For some reason I felt miserable, and returned to my car. I started to drive and smoke. Oh my God! I haven’t looked at the basketball court yet. I gave up on seeing it. Yesterday, terrorists killed two Japanese journalists in Iraq. I remembered the news and felt sad. Many people crowded Shibuya today. Everybody seemed happy. I made 51,000 yen. Good! I was very happy.
